Hey guys so I recently bought a notebook, my uncle told me that you can run it via AC power without battery pack. as I know it will drain it by time if that is inserted. His notebook is still working since 09, so what I want to know is that is it 100% to do so?

thanks

Yes it's fine. Only downside is no battery backup if the power fails.

Wouldn't be a good idea to charge the battery up fully and then remove it and keep it safe, in case such a scenario occurs?

Or is it bad to leave a fully charged up battery aside for long periods of time?

I leave mine fully charged and aside for 9 months, and voila its still working dont leave for years ( i am talking about 7-8 years) or the things will start funging( i dont know if it exist) up

The usual advice for Li-Ion batteries is to store them part-charged, say 40-50% in a cool dry place.

A fully charged battery will deteriorate quicker. A drained battery may not re-activate if stored for a long period.
