Is it safe to overclock/overvolt my RAM? or will this damage my CPU?

I am interested in overclocking my RAM, looking around the internet people have got thier Vengeance RAM up to 2000MHz on 9, 10, 9, 24 timings using 1.65v, but i have read that you should never have the RAM voltage this high as it will "limit the lifespan of the CPU"

Thoughts?

Loads of people have been running 1.65v on SB/IB CPUs for a while no problem, but it's hard to tell if it can actually shorten the CPU life.

Honestly, don't bother. There's very little performance gains with overclock the RAM, infact in real life scenarios you'll see/feel no difference at all.

I think it was anandtech a while back that did an analysis of RAM speeds with Sandy bridge and showed that it made little or no difference, it used to make a big difference but it was somethign to do with the new memory controllers and the architecture of the CPU which meant it wasn't a limiting factor. It would be best to read it all, i can only rememmber snippets.
