Is it still possible to buy a reliable Win7 Home Premium key?

Title says it all, really. I can find plenty of them for sale but the sources look dubious to me (and the ones with reviews all contain some reviews saying the key didn't work). I suspect keys of at best dubious legality that might be cancelled at any time. Maybe I am overly suspicious. Maybe not.

I want to buy a key I can use to activate an existing Win 7 Home Premium installation on new hardware because my existing licence is OEM and shouldn't work on a new motherboard. Can anyone point me at a reliable source for it?

As far as I know, it's not possible to activate one version of Windows with a key for a different version of Windows. I'm looking to activate an existing installation of Win7 Home Premium on new hardware, so as far as I know I need a Win7 Home Premium key specifically.

Also, £150 is rather more than I'm hoping to pay to be able to continue using Win7, especially for an OEM license.

Microsoft remove old versions of Windows from the channels pretty quickly as they want people on the latest versions. So you are stuck with who has stock very soon after release of a new OS - buying soon after a new OS is released is obviously cheaper whilst stock is around, once time goes buy and it becomes rare so prices increase.
As said above you can go the "phone route" to re-activate Windows onto new hardware - results may vary.
This is all a very good advert to buy retail copies of Windows - Retail 10 Home is around £15 more than OEM and it can just be moved from one machine to another as you need to. Sure you may need to reactivate over the phone if you are swapping around regularly (but lets be honest, most people aren't).

Or just buy a key for £15 and hope it works okay, if it doesn't and fails after 6 months buy another.

Right, but that would be illegal?
Why do you feel it is acceptable to post on forums telling people to go and pirate their software?
So you are big and cool, think the world owes you a living and thus you shouldn't have to pay for anything - well done you, you go guy!
You don't need to then come and swagger onto some forums and tell people to also pirate their software - freeloaders, just want everyone to help them justify their own decision.

It isn't pirating, many are legit however some are not which makes them a grey area hence why some end up getting deactivated, I have no idea why you are so triggered? You are right maybe it goes against their EULA I however am not quite sure maybe you would like to read the Terms & Conditions and tell me if I am breaking them, not sure if that is illegal or not.

If you want to know my copy is totally legitimate, Windows 7 Home Premium brought for £80 from a legitimate store upgraded to Windows 10 (Even came with the disc and COA), also I haven't just swaggered on here to tell people to pirate stuff, I've been here for 2,773 posts which is more posts a day than you so get off that high horse and don't break the neck in doing so :D
