Is it still possible to get a socket 1156 ITX mobo?

I've been looking around for a while, and can't find one. I've got an old full size desktop (running a Nehalem i5) sat next to my TV at the moment, and want to downsize it to something smaller. The thing is, I use it so rarely that I want to do it as cheaply as possible. It's not worth me effectively building a whole new rig to do it, but if I can get a cheap ITX case and mobo I would.

S1156 is completely dead but I found one from Point of View on a competitor's site but it's £108! Send me a message via trust if you're interested and I'll reply with the link. Have you tried asking in the members' market?

I think Zotac made the best :)
I would dispute that personally.

A few months ago I got a Zotac H55ITX-C-E from the famous auction site for ~£45 inc postage to downsize a PC as you are. Unfortunately I didn't discover until afterwards that this model of board has completely wrong voltage tables for the i5s and even some of the later i3, overvolting them up to 1.4v!. Zotac never updated the BIOS to fix it.

You can still get £40-50 for an i5-750 these days so if you're only using the PC as an HTPC I'd suggest selling the CPU and putting it towards something more suitable for the role, which won't be too expensive.

Yeah, I'm tempted to do that actually. I'll see what I can track down, but might wait until after my exams and then build myself an HTPC treat!

Were I to upgrade the mobo and CPU, would my old RAM (it's some sort of DDR3, won't need to be particularly quick for my purposes) work in the newer motherboards?

I would like one of the bitfenix prodigy cases and have a s1156 set up, so I have been looking for a decent mini itx mobo too
I don't want to spend ~ £200+ on a new s1155 or s1150 processor + mobo just to get the case :( when the i5 750 does just fine.

I assume that my gfx (his 7850 iceqx 2gb) would fit in that case?

Edit - OK just seen a video review on YouTube and the gfx will deffo fit easily

Edit 2 - so it appears there is a matx version of this case due to be released so it looks like I don't need to find a mini itx mobo after all :)
