Is it still possible to get an MSI N580GTX LXE 3GB

Every Lightning card MSI has ever made barring the 6970 one were limited runs mate.

There was a reason for that.

There isn't a huge market for other worldly priced video cards. Like the 580 Classified they are a pure overclockers card, with the sole intention of the design to be slapped under DICE or LN2 and records broken.

A willy waving card, if you will (no offence meant !).

Thus, it's a hard sale to many who want one just for their desktop. It's very hard to justify buying a card that in most scenarios will perform the same as one costing a huge amount of money less. Now the 6970L was cheap really. Only around £30 more than a stock 6970. That justified itself with the factory overclock and that lovely cooler.

The 580 Lightnings however? they were far more expensive than an already very expensive card.

MSI, Asus, Gigabyte.. They all make these cards in some shape or form. The reason is simple. Get one out to some one like that loony Smoke, let him break the world record and then get that out to as many people as you can, letting them know that you are not a company to be, erm, ***** with.

You'd be amazed how many heads that can turn and how many sales it can earn you.
 
I found one (Clone ^ ), but the price was a bit too steep. Still hopeing one comes along though at my right sort of price, now the 680's are along, one may come up, already in the americas their selling second hand so any day now in europe....

Fingers crossed, my Blender renders using Cycles will get a performance boost some time soon.

I do wonder if I should just sell mine and buy two Gainward 3GB 580 GTX Phantoms instead, anyone interested?, my card, never overclocked, box etc even receipt for the rest of the warranty!.
