I know there are lots of these threads but what the heck, they normally help more than one person out :)

I currently have:

Asus Striker Extreme
E8500 @ 3.8Ghz
4GB 6400 Corsair XMS2
2 x 8800GT's (identical MSi versions with S1 coolers)
750w Toughpower PSU
22" Samsung TFT.

Now im torn between getting a single GTX 260 or going over to the dark side and getting a 1GB 4870, i rekon i can sell my two 8800's for around £150.00 (i have the original coolers + boxes for both + are flashed to the same bios) so the upgrade will be fairly cheap....to start with.

Im currently playing (the very buggy) Mirrors Edge and cant max the settings at 1680x1050, my monitors max res, and that just wont do!

The 8800s have been great and personally think they hit a gfx sweet spot, between price and performance, but its time to move on.

Any views or advice welcome.

I would personally stick with the NV camp and get a 260. They are so reasonably priced atm its untrue. Why not get 2 and seriously treat yourself :P

Hey there, yeah i am leaning towards the 260 purely based on price, and with selling my exsisting 8800's that would pay (almost) for one 260 alone, easy then to get a second at a later date.
