so i just bought myself new vega 56, arrived today, all exited. Installed the card in pc, started, loaded windows, getting blue screen, error is atikmag.sys. Did some reading an it looks like it wont work on my pc with windows 10. My pc is old x58-ud5 woth xenon inside. feeling bit gutted, not too sure i want to use windows 7 (video card should work with them). So now the question is: do i upgrade my pc.
if i was doing so i would go only amd route. what's my best options? I don't need mobo with too many extras as i only do gaming and regular stuff on pc. I'd like to fit into 400£, i only need cpu, mobo, and ramm?

Sadly the RAM will be the most costly bit, especially because you'll want faster RAM to complement AMD's architecture. I would find the memory you want, then take the remaining budget and aim for a decent mobo and CPU.

Probably worth getting a regular (non-X) series Ryzen CPU as you can manually overclock it to match the X:s stock overclock.

Is the issue with the X58 related to UEFI? Or a Windows 10 issue?

I believe it's WIndows issue, as i can use the card with no problems in windows 7. What's the best ramm? I know that Ryzen doesn't work with all chips well, wht would be best choise of ramm? I'm kinda leaning toward Ryzen 1700. What is good mobo fr around 100£? AS there is so many of them god know what to choose, if i'll go x370 chipset will it last me till Ryzen 3xxx?

This is within your budget, quite a good bundle, and you can always upgrade as you go along, As for RyZen 3...…..a video I watched today from AdoredTV did say that depending on what AMD intend on doing with the new CPU's, a lot of the AM4 boards currently on the market wont have the power requirements to run the top end RyZen 3's, for instance, they may make a 16 core 32 thread CPU and call it threadripper AM4 for instance or even RyZen 9 but compatible to fit in the AM4 socket, however the lower core count CPUs will work fine, so they may just take RyZen 7 upto 12 cores 24 threads, RyZen 5 upto 8 cores 16 threads and so on...….its all just speculation at the moment, no one really knows except AMD themselves.

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/amd-...ram-free-240gb-ssd-online-only-bu-01f-am.html £381.97

To upgrade it to 16gb of RAM its £428.93
