to just lay down and think about things? i often do this, sometimes with some music on, sometimes not.
i asked some friends wether they do this and essentially they said no, they will stick on a computer game or tv etc but rarely spend time thinking life issues and things over. i don't worry too much about things but i do often wonder wether i think to much about things, just basic things like things i have to do to move things forward and things i've done in the past, both good and bad.

I acutally did this for the first time the other day, lined up a load of decent music, got comfy with my headphones. Eventually sat up and realised I'd been lying there for 2 hours!

Verdict: was good.

It's a good thing to do if it feels good and helps you! I do it a lot. Try to avoid planning for the far future in this time though, as I ended up getting frustrated that time doesn't move fast enough to start implementing the plans.

I do this all the time too. Very interesting. Unless, like your friends, you'd rather stare at a TV or video game all day.

Did you ever notice that your friends were idiots?

Sounds like a personal form of meditation to me. Which is wonderful.

This.

It's very similar to the method of meditation used by lots of buddhists.
Ever been to a buddhist monastry in the scottish highlands and meditated for 2 hours in the presence of a tibetan master? Pretty damn good. Very refreshing.... its like drinking a nice cold glass of water in your brain.

personal reflection is a good thing, I pass the time at work doing it, I'm essentially being paid just to stand there so I might as well let my mind wander.

Karma Kagyu Samyé Ling, perchance? :)
