No Im trying to say would the audio quality be that much better than an OK sound card? And if so, would it justify the £189 Price tag

The Xense headset is a PC 350. The soundcard is effectively a cut down STX or a D2X with amp. Both of those together are £210-£270 so with that in mind its worth it.

I use the PC-350 with the STX and its immaculate in how it sounds! Worth every penny to me

A pro audio soundcard could work out cheaper for you and give off better sound, maybe something from EMU or m audio, they even do ones which dont need breakout boxes and are 7.1 surround.
