Is it worth buying CoD4?

So after owning MW2 since Christmas I'm considering buying MW1. I've played it before and loved it. I don't mind MW2 but it can be incredibly annoying and has a lot of fundamental flaws.

Even people who I follow on YouTube like aMOODIEswede etc have turned back to CoD 4.

So do you guys think that I would enjoy CoD4 a lot more than Mw2 and is it worth forking out £20 odd for a new copy? Best price actually around £21 I think. And if I do, is it worth going for a GotY edition for all of the maps? I'm on Xbox 360 btw.

I won't sell MW2 but I could trade one of my older games for CoD4 with a mate.

So what do you guys think I should do and what is the best deal I can get?

Cheers men..and ladies. :)

Might as well if you enjoyed it, only £20. I don't believe that the GOTY edition comes with the extra maps now.

Yes, if you can get it at an unbloated highstreet price :p

The campaign alone is worth it probably and the multiplayer is far from dead.

Providing you don't mind a mind boggling insane story line that goes all over the place, then yes.

Personally I'd of been happy with just an invasion of the USA and fighting them off.

That said, providing you don't roll your eyes to the story line, then yes it's still good fun.

edit ** oops sorry i thought we were talking about MW2 and not 1.. but in answer to your question. YES it's the best game of this generation.

Oh and sorry for confusion. I will be playing the game 99% for it's(or its I'm not sure) multiplayer. I will complete the campaign loosely and then on to multiplayer. Man I just had a 2 hour session on MW2 didn't even do too badly but just did not find it satisfying killing anyone..

Edit - Oh yeah it appears the latest GotY editions do not come with the maps with no prior warning.. Will borrow it off my mate for a bit and see how it goes. :)

COD4 has the best single player ive played apart from BC2
we still play it once a week.. tomoz infact... you welcome to join us tomoz night ;)

I think the single player campaign is better in COD4.However the MP isn't. IMO anyway. I tried it on sunday and just didn't enjoy it as much as MW2.

I wouldn't pay £20 for it.

The campaign, while good, is very short and as for multiplayer I'd imagine a very large majority of players have migrated to MW2.

Got it now and going to buy it off my mate for a tenner tomorrow. Having a lot of fun on the multiplayer. :)
