Howdy.

Im just wondering if adding an extra 5870 to my existing 5970 in tri fire would be a worthwhile purchase.

Ive looked around the net and it seems like you get a decent boost in performance and seeing as though you can pick up a 5870 for around the £100 mark now I was thinking of going down this route as opposed to forking out big bucks on 6970 or a 580.

Whats peoples thoughts on this?

My psu is up to the task and my mobo is xfire enabled however the 2 cards will run at x8 speed with xfire enabled.

If you can get a 5870 for a reasonable price then yeah absolutely worth it.

I've been running that set up for two years, BF3 runs almost maxed out with 2x AA.

Just don't run textures on Ultra as it will run out of Vram. All other settings can be on ultra without HBAO. 80-200 fps at 1080p.
