Is it worth getting a separate network card?

I have an MSI P6N SLI mobo. I use the built in Nvidia network connection. But since moving to Vista I have had some network problems that I think may relate to the on board LAN.
If I bought a separate card would that help? IE one that was not using my mobos Nvidia on board?
Any thoughts and recommendations?

it's worth a try - although any card would probably be ok.
Realtek based cards tend to be very cheap, fairly reliable and work with any os
