is it worth going to the 4790k from the 4690k?

Ive recently just bought the 4690k but upgraded earlier than planned due to a wee bonus..

so my thoughts are next year would it be worth getting a 4790k fitted to my board? what gains will I see?

Plough your money into a new GPU

yip its the Msi 7950 I am looking at upgrading the gpu. still not sure what to go for yet.

What's your budget?

ill be looking to spend between £250 to £300 on one.

having a quick look through some cards and I'm thinking the gtx 970 would be a nice upgrade.
I was looking at the r9 3xx series but I don't know if there much of an upgrade over my overclocked 7950

Gaming on single GPU no, 2/3 gpu yes, Video encoding yes.

I done this very upgrade. It clocked slightly better so got a bit more in game but on rendering when editing videos..> my god its a monster.

I used my 8350 for video editing back and forth ive not tried any with the 4690k yet.

I think at the moment ill upgrade my gpu and then possibly middle of next year Ill start looking for a cheap 4790k as then I could go for a second card and see the benefit of it.
