Buy any mobiles or tablets in US?
IPhone 5 is cheaper by £100 so quite a bit. IPad
must be same..but.I'm not iperson ;)

Not sure if it is worth all the hassle...

Am thinking about either win8 pro tablet or nexus...

It all depends how cheaply you can buy them there. Shipping from the states isn't going to be pennies, also don't forget any import tax.

You may get away with the tax, but I wouldn't count on it.

and I dont mind if they would have to bin boxes etc...

The biggest problem I'd imagine when buying something from the US, is not having a EU warranty. The warranty on any product bought in the US won't be valid in the EU. You'd have to send any device back to the US if a fault develops. Some people are willing to take that risk, if it can save them some money on UK prices.

if it is £50 then not sure if it is worth it, it like with iP5 it is £100 then why not - my opinion

Your biggest problem is the fact it's probably not going to work on the same range of frequencies as an EU handset will.

Tablets with no 3G are obviously fine.

For Laptops Apple offers universal warranty which is nice.

is apple not selling GSM version of iP5 in US ?

Also don't forget that there is no sales tax (VAT) on prices you see in the US.

I do know that :)

GSM isn't a single frequency, there are different bands. For 3G you'll be fine with most devices (Apple included) but if you are looking at other phones/tablets just check first. If you are buying an LTE device over there then you'll need to be even more careful.

Apple sell 2 versions of the iPad in the US, a GSM version (AT&T) and a CDMA version (Verizon).

The AT&T version works fine in the UK, as I have had no problem with my one.
