Is it worth it...?

After recently upgrading i'm a few parts short of having a spare PC. The only thing i'd need to purchase is some memory, a PSU, a CPU, a case and maybe a keyboard + mouse. I'll probably be getting a Lian Li at some point to replace my ageing Chieftec Dragon so i won't need to worry about a case.

My only worry is that both of my spare motherboards (NF7-S2 and an NF7) are both socket A and CPU's for these are pretty hard to come by these days. I could probably pick up a cheap Duron but would it be worth it or would be better to get a cheap 939 board and CPU? Is there much difference in performance? I need to make this as cheap as pos after recently spending about a grand on a complete overhaul.

The other thing is, i'm not quite sure what i'd do with a spare PC. The only purpose i can think of is to stick it on our wireless network and use it as a 'communal' PC for people to stick any downloaded media on. Can anyone think of a better use for it?

Any advice appreciated,

Cheers :)

Sure. Get it folding!! ;)

skt939 will definately out perform the sktA by miles but I don't think it's worth it for a spare pc, a cheap 2nd hand AXP from the bay will do the job I think.
