Is it worth it?

Currently have 2 x GeForce 7800 GTX in SLi on my sig rig.

Was thinking of upgrading (?) to Vista in the near future and as such was wondering if it would be worth me getting 2 x 8600GT to run in SLi.

Tis just an idea at the moment.

Am currently a little short on the cash front, but the next few months should see an upturn in readies.

Any suggestions and comments are welcome

Thanks

Paul

Defiantly not, SLI isn't worth it for a start unless playing at stupidly high resolutions, if you can afford it, a 8800 GTS would be a better option than 2x8600's, although new Nvidia cards may be coming out in November which should see the 8800's falling in price so it might be a better option to wait.

Was looking at the 8800gts but a little out of my price range atm.

I currently run games at 1600x1200 as have vp2030b monitor capable of handling them and it looks very nice

Well I'm not sure how 7800 GTX's in SLi performs but i wouldn't think 2x8600's would be a very worthwhile upgrade, if you could afford it I'd recommend buying a 8800 GTS 640MB or a 2900xt, if your not desperate for an upgrade then I'd still probably suggest waiting for the new cards to come out and getting either of the 2 cards i mentioned for cheaper than what you can get now.
