going from amd 6000 x2
to
c2d 8500
worth it or not ?
will i see an improvement ?
 
Yes

I went from a 3ghz 4200+ x2 to a q6600 and the difference was incredible. I gained 12fps in crysis for starters. You will see an even bigger difference.

Just do what I've done with the parents, don't tell 'em XD til the delivery van arrives ofc, then when they ask how much it was just halve the figure you paid for it!
 
i get my stuf delivered to work and say i got it from work

either that or pick it up from ocuk

i would reccomend any c2d over amd

i had my 4800 @3GHz
that was a struggle
now i have my e6300 at 3GHz with no hassle and the ooler fan turned right down
i know i could push it further

a quad or an e8xxx chip would be a massive difference

Thanks for the backup :D

And the poster is going from an amd 6000 which runs at 3Ghz hence my personal experience was totally relevant to the OP.
 
Get your order confirmation email and open it in word, alter the prices so its realyl really cheap.. print the order from word and show your wife how little it cost, delete the email from your inbox and make sure its not in deleted items...

Tell her you decided not to order the expensive item you told her about becasue you wanted to save the money... make sure you hide your bank statment when it arrives.. if she finds out act all supprised and tell her you will ring OC and get a refund because they charged you for the wrong item..
