Not sure if its worth it (spec in sig)
I am thinking of upgrading to a 285 or 295, I know if I go for a 295 i'll need a new PSU.

Is it worth me upgrading anything else while i'm at it? Or wont I see much increase? The main thing I use my PC for is gaming.

i think if your gaming at 1080p then it would be worth invesrting in a gtx285 no point getting 295 unless your at 2560x1600

Whether you game on your TV or your monitor, I'd go for the 285, the 295 is overkill for 1920x1080 or less.

I notice a little when using high res mods on fallout 3, also pop up on GTA4 due to only 512Mb vram.
Will go for the 285 and will upgrade the rest when prices come down.

If you're only just noticing with an 8800 GT, then a £300 GTX285 is probably overkill by quite a margin.

Are you running full settings? If not, it's more likely to be worth it: but if you notice "a little" on quality settings you're happy with, there's no point shelling out that much on it. Try a 4870 for just over half the price, then you can put the remaining £150 towards your "I want an i7" fund that most of us have going on.

Lol, I like to think that if I upgrade me graphics now I wont have to again for a long time (2 or 3 years).
I think i'll wait for the CPU side until something much better comes out in a couple of years too, then do a full system upgrade & get a 285 now :)

Tagen Easycon 580W
I have tried overclocking the cpu more but get BSODs, tried upping the ram and the NB but still get BSODs. I think my board is crap for overclocking as the chip is lapped, bought from the MM from someone who had it at 3.6. My ram is 8000 but doesnt like going over 6400 speeds even with +0.2v so that points to the board too :(
