Hi i have a i5-4690k cpu at stock its 3500mhz

it idles at 28 and on load about 40 - 46

So i said to my self ...i wonder what this overclocking lark is all about.

In the ASUS Uebios (z97-k) menu it seems pretty easy to oc. So i do that and it autotunes it to 28!% oced effectively to 4480mhz.

Only thing is now under load my cpu goes up to 60 - 64

Considering i didn't really have a problem with any games maxed out should i have bothered overclocking the cpu in the first place?

i think maybe ill set it back at stock and if i come up against anything which i struggle to run will oc it then.

not really sure about voltage settings..atm mine is at 0.76 but ranges from that to 1.248v im guessing lower is better? :D

overclock it, go for it.

My 4690k is at 4.7GHz 24/7 and never goes above 50 degrees.

Fantastic CPU

even under stresstesting and heavy load? surprised at that as i have same cpu with a tower cooler...

ahh wait you have watercooling?
