i'd say no, but it depends what you use your macbook for? my mbp runs fine on 2gb

If you like to run virtual machines and make a living from applications like Photoshop then yes, maybe. Otherwise its probably not going to have much impact on performance.

Its worth doing with memory prices the way they are if you plan on keeping it for a while. After all they wont come down any more once DD3 gets established. The only way is up!

Just put 4MB in my 2.2 MBP to try and I couldn't tell any difference tbh.

Buy a kickin' rad HDD like the Hitachi 7K200 series. That'd likely give a better all round boost.
