Im currently running a Sandybridge i7 @ 4.6Ghz, if I was to upgrade to the latest processor obviously upgrading the Motherboard and memory do you think I am likely to see much of a speed increase, main use is for gaming.
Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to the forums. :)

Straight answer, no. The Sandybridge cpu's were just so good when they came out and Intels has only given us tiny incremental increases in performance with each new generation. They have been concentrating on the onboard gpu and power efficiency. What graphics card do you have and what res do you game at? Do you have a SSD?

I have a gtx 780Ti and SSD's, these were bought about 12 months ago but the core PC i.e cpu, motherboard and memory are 3 years old now and I'm itching to upgrade, I remember when a PC that was 3 years old was ready for the tip.....are there any new cpu's on the horizon that I should be looking out for that will give me a worthwhile upgrade do you think?...thanks for the reply btw :)
