Hi there guys I got GTX EVGA 780 SC ACX for 2 years and I wonder if it's worth to upgrade. I only play at 1080p modern titles eg gta5, cs go etc

my cpu is i7 4770k
Z87gd65
8gb ram gskill 2133 2x4gb

I play all my games at decent fps. I'm just not sure if it's worth to upgrade as I have card for 2 years and 3gb sems to run of a bit. Although only in GTA 5 when I turn up Anti aliasing

Unless you see any announced titles that you are going to play on release that would look too much for the 780 to handle, your 780 would probably still serve you well until the release the next gen's release of graphic cards.

Most games in general probably won't be much more demanding, if not less demanding than GTA5...though unoptimised lazy console ported poos by Ubisoft is another matter.

One thing you could consider though is may be getting a Gsync monitor, which will allow you to get better, smoother gaming experience despite same frame rate- though they are not cheap.

+1 a gsync monitor would be a worthwhile upgrade!

Okay, thank you. I hope it will be worth to upgrade next year.

Either way you look at it is if you buy now you will see some good frame increase, but next year you will see a lot more frame increase. For me your upgrading too early if your happy now. A Gsync monitor wuld be a good upgrade however :)

Monitor in my case wouldn't be a good idea as I play on my couch with mouse + keyboard. I know it's not ideal for competitive games . Thanks for advice though.

Wait for the next gen. We're expecting a totally new breed of cards with a significant performance leap over today's offerings. Whether we get that or not is a different matter (personally I think it will be drip fed), but the facts are we will see both a die shrink and HBM2 used so it is worth waiting till next year (3rd quarter?).

I hope its sooner than the 3rd quarter :D

It depends what your future plans are really. If you plan to stick to 1080p then an upgrade now would be warranted as a 980ti or TX would last you a long time, even after the new cards come out. Im buying ti's soon as I plan to stick to 1080p for a good while as I think its fine and you can still get stunning visuals on it.

But on the other hand I do agree with the above as well, if the games you play and applications you use run fine and you are happy with the performance and visuals wait.

If it were me - I would upgrade now, but would upgrade to the best there is now and nothing less
