Is it worth trying?

My brother has asked me to format his PC for him as its running a little slow.
He has a A64 3000+ on a MSI Neo (754) mother board and 1g of Geil 3200 value RAM.

Am i right in thinking this is a newcaslte chip and was wondering if i could get an overclock out of it?

The thing is my only overclocking experience i've had is with my 2500 Barton,and the only thing i changed was one setting in the bios.

I have a 3700 San diego sat here which will be going in my PC so i might use his PC as a test before i do mine.
