Im itching to upgrade something after a recent motherboard mishap.

Where is the CPU game these days? is it worth upgrading anything i can get 4.6ghz out of this chip rather easily.

im thinking stick with for a while?

maybe upgrade the 1070 gtx which at 1440p isnt really struggling hard but i know i could be a lot better off.

i would wait and see what ryzen 3000 series brings to the table, just overclock for the moment id say ....i think the new ryzen cpu's will shake things up a bit! even if you dont get a new ryzen i think it will force intel to cut prices

I have a 980ti and a 1440 165hz monitor. My GPU won't stay solid 165 FPS. GPU is my next upgrade but with the crazy prices I'm holding out as long as I can.

With a 6700k, I would rather wait for AMD's 7nm CPU generation to arrive so you can jump right into the newest CPU tech and PCIe4 equipped motherboards.

Im gonna cut off the area affected by the itch.... I might get a 2080 which will deffo be worth it. A few are actually cheaper here than in UK... VEry surprised.

6700k here too...

I'm awaiting the Zen 2 launch and I'm fairly certain I'll be building a new system then. GPU is up in the air as I'm on 980Ti's at the moment but I'm not tempted by current value for money on new GPUs (nor old GPUs at the moment for that matter!).
