Is it worth upgrading dual AMD 7950 GPU system?

I have a PC with two AMD 7950 GPUs in it and was wondering if it was worth upgrading them at all? Most games seem to play OK but I might be buying a new monitor which would mean I'd have dual 1440p displays which I am worried that it would tax my current GPUs too much in games.

What do you think? Is it worth it or should I just wait and see?

I'm running 1440p and 7950 crossfire with no problems at all....that's when there's a working crossfire game profile of course. Over 100fps in bf4 at ultra, 60fps in gtav very high settings, 60fps in witcher3 very high settings etc. They are still very good for 1440p but driver support is now crippling them a touch. I'm actually moving to Fury X if I can get one on the 24th.

Yeah I don't have any problems yet but there is a chance I might get a 4k monitor at some point soon (one of my monitors seems to be broken) and I'm worried a dual 7950 system might struggle at the resolution. If I don't get a 4k monitor I'll get a second 1440p monitor and that is still a pretty big resolution to push for this system I think.

Luckily my CPU is still good in this machine so it shouldn't be a bottleneck for new GPUs.

When there are single cards that can beat your crossfire system like the Fury X and 980Ti, it offers a good option of not having to rely on crossfire profiles for games.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. A nice single card upgrade would probably also save on my electricity bill as well.
