Is it worth upgrading ? Dual core vs quad core ...

Yeah £80 seems a bit steep I would have thought as a 'reliable' buyer and the fact he won't need to post it anywhere would see your mate knock another tenner off the price.

Personally the idea of spending £80 on an 'old' generation cpu (not even an i-series never mind SB) doesn't sit terribly well with me although obviously it is a cheaper and easier upgrade path from C2D.


I bought my Q6600 for £62, I think it was a good buy personally.


This time last year Q6600 was easily selling for £80-£85. I myself bought one for £80 im MM although seller had it up for £85.

I am glad I bought it as it is a low VID 1.2625v cpu and I have it overclocked to 3.6Ghz at 1.392V Prime stable:)

Edit: Sold E6600 for £50. So upgrade cost of only £30 results in big performance :)

Q6600 is also suffering from depreciation. So £60-£70 is a good purchased price now.
