Is it worth upgrading from a 226bw?

I'm currently preparing to build a new gaming sff, but am in a bit of a dilemma about the monitor.
I have a samsung 226bw (s panel for those who are interested) being used with another desktop, soon to be in the possession of my brother.

Now, I need to buy another monitor- the question is, do I:
a) buy a cheap, decent 20 or 22" to take the place of the 226bw with the other desktop, and use the 226bw in my new rig?
b) leave the 226bw where it is, and buy a worthwhile upgrade from it?

As I'll be spending quite a bit on the new build, I'd like to save £s wherever I can, so if I do go for option b) it needs to be significantly better to justify spending anything £300+.
Also, it needs to be easy to carry (in a suitable harnass), preferably in one hand.
Of course it would be nice to find something for around the £200 mark.

I'm unsure about going for a 24", as they seem quite bulky to easily carry, and I'm concerned that I'll be flicking my head from side to side whilst gaming to see stuff at the edges of the screen (this is probably nonsense, but 22" is the largest I've owned. I'll probably be sitting 2 to 3 feet from it).

That's also the worry with the new 16:9 screens- I don't want my vision to feel restricted. Also 16:10 is nearer to the golden ratio, though this may be irrelevant.

I don't really have the money to spend on one of the high end 24" monitors, so my limit is around the mid £300s.

The Acer G24 has been getting great reviews, but I am put off by the colour, weight, overall bulkiness...

Maybe I should stick with the 226bw, and buy some other 22/20" to take it's place.

Any suggestions?
:)
