Is it worth upgrading my CPU?

I'm currently running s 2600x on an x470 Gaming Plus MB with 16gb DDR4 3200 ram which has served me perfectly well over the past 12 months or so. However, I'm now doing more and more work with Handbrake so I'm wondering whether upgrading to the 3900x will see big enough performance increases i.e. reducing in encoding times, to warrant the upgrade?

I don't want to have to upgrade my mobo or ram, and looking at the MSI site there's a bios update to support the 3900x.

Looking for peoples thoughts

Also as seen here with your motherboard you are recommended to have some major airflow over your VRM's with a 3900X installed.

I don't know if I'm missing something, but I can't actually see my exact mobo listed. The closest is the X470 Gaming Plus (Max) and that shows 'minor airflow recommended'. Are you saying that the X470 and X570 Gaming Plus have identical VRM's?

Nice table btw, very helpful.
