Is it "worth" upgrading my ram?

So, I'm lucky to have a 5800x3D and 4090, but it's paired with 2x16gb Corsair RGB stuff which is 3200hmz and rated 16-18-18-36. Looking in my bios it's actually running at 18-18-18-43. I've got some bonus money which means I could get some faster ram. Is it worth the ~£100 upgrade to something like https://www.overclockers.co.uk/team...0c16-3600mhz-dual-channel-kit-my-002-8p.html? Or do I try and tinker what I have?

I mainly do sim racing stuff (iRacing & rFactor 2) as well as Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on my 5120x1440 240hz screen. I know it won't be a mind blowing increase, but would that jump in ram help out a tad?

Any advice appreciated :-)

I would say not really worth it. The 5800x3d is less sensitive to ram speeds and timings than other Ryzen cpus but it does still have a small effect.

That is the original review and I am sure someone has tested with differeing ram speeds and timings but I cannot find it. There is only single digit performance increases to be had and sometimes none at all.

The other side of the equation is that you have spent £1500+ on your gpu so if you can spend just £100 to get a 5-10% performance increase then it is worth it right?

There is not a wrong choice here. I personally would keep using the ram you have and save the money for a future upgrade. Update BIOS and get the ram running at the correct timings and see if that makes any difference.

Edit - I have very similar ram to you and mine is running at the correct 18 -18-18-36 timings. I suspect you have chosen to use XMP profile that prioritises stability and not speed. Change the xmp profile and it may be correct.

At that resolution I doubt you'd notice anything.
