I have just upgraded my pc and I was wondering if its worth upgrading to windows 8,

I've been told there's a ms promo on but I cant fine any info,
the only one I can find is if your pc is new you can upgrade for £15 but mine is not.

I did not think much of it when it was beta

yes and no is the easy answer

yes because it's a few % quick in games if you play them, and some apps, better coding etc

newer version of dx11

i could go on but it's every where online tbh,

the buts / no reply.

price for you if not in date etc, even though you may still be able to get the cheaper upgrade version

priced at £24.99 no catches for you either and you get pro....

not that easy to use to start off with, some drivers aren't out as yet for all hardware, but few weeks or a month at max all will be etc

I made the jump and got windows 8, its taking some getting use to but its a lot smoother to you use no lag.

Buying it, yes, because its currently cheap and slightly faster than windows 7.

Installing it, maybe - if you keep a disk image handy. Different file systems mean you can't just downgrade to w7 later (technically it's possible, but difficult).

I own w8, but I'm back on w7 because ms have still not fixed the reboot loop bug that was reported something like 2+ years ago in very early code. Every time they release updates they kill more devices as it requires a reinstall.

My point is buy it while it's cheap - and you can get media centre for free - but keep an image of your w7 machine, and w8 install too if at all possible. Or just sit on in until sp1 comes out.
