is it worth upgrading yet and how to best budget?

I use it for most thing you could think of, streaming, gaming, basic editing. office work, net ext.

Its not really failing, its still about passable in most areas but its getting a bit slow and dated if you know what i mean. I can still use it.
 
Looking at your specs wasn't far off what I had, and I went to an i7 and z97 mobo, the difference is night and day in speed, everything is snappier, games pump more fps and more stable doing so. Streaming seems to not task it much either, and I absolutely swore allegiance to my trusty old 8350, but I cannot recommend moving to Intel platform more right now, that said, I have heard Ryzen is pretty good, but I for one cannot comment as I have never tried these and also I would be hesitant as it is a new architecture. But just some food for thought...
