I'm currently running the rig in my sig at the moment, but I'm starting to wonder if it's worth looking at an upgrade.

Not that there's anything wrong with the rig at all, seems to play all the latest games without to much trouble.

When I got the rig the i5-2500k was just about the best bang for the buck, especially when you take into account its OC'ing ability. But what is today's equivalent CPU and motherboard of choice etc?

Thanks in advance

Putting a Samsung 840 Pro 256Gb SSD in this weekend (managed to pick one up for £106.14 inc VAT) :)

Your rig is decent and it does what you need it to do, your gonna love that ssd. Another option could be to add another 7850 or maybe a sound card, etc.

Whats your sound system?

Running an Asus Xonar D2X Soundcard and running that through some old creative 5.1 speakers or my Turtle Beach EarForce Z6A headphones.

Is it worth buying an additional 7850 OC and running them both in crossfire?

So the general consensus then is to just enjoy what I have and don't bother upgrading it yet? :)
