Need to reinstall windows on one of the kids PC's only using 32bit windows at the mo. But just wondering is it worth installing 64bit of windows with only 2GB memory in the system. Will having 64bit windows make any difference to performance etc over the 32bit.

Spec of the system:

Phenom 9850
2GB DDR
160Gb Hard drive

yes it is worth it, but no you wont see any performance.
But it has increased security and other under the hood features, as well as being able to run 64bit software.

You should be asking yourself why stay with 32bit, not what improvement do i get with 64bit.

There's next to no performance difference, but as long as all your hardware/drivers are well supported in 64bit, then there's really no reason not to use it if you're reinstalling anyway.

Using 2GB of memory will make no difference. The 64bit is OK if you have 4GB or more of memory, as the 64bit will see it. Even the demanding of games will only use about 1.95GB of ram.
