You can buy and install components all you like, you will need that PSU back before anything will work though

I try never to buy hardware in anticipation, unless you know it will not be available later, or it is currently 'this week only' price wise.
New hardware might come out, the price might fall, an incompatability might be discovered... but most importantly of all - you have no way of testing them and returning them within the 7 days provision whislt you wait.
