Is MacDrive still the best option for HFS+ on Windows?

I used to use this software 10 years ago when I last had a Mac. Is it still regarded as the best for working with HFS+ drives on Windows? I'm thinking about moving my stuff over to external HDDs in preparation for switching from Windows to macOS but don't want to use "janky" file systems like exFAT or FAT32. I know Mac can read NTFS but writing is not officially supported and I don't want to risk it.

have you try Paragon? Seagate give them out full version for free. i'am using their Paragon NTFS for Mac 15 , works fine on macOS High Sierra.
they also have a Windows version.
