Is Metal music dead?

I like all kinds of music which is very vast but this evening I was in the mood for some modern metal that hits hard something I can really feel but everything I'm finding is over a decade old and I'm not finding anything current that I've not heard a million times before. Rock and metal in general seems to be fading out even Godsmacks music has gone really soft.

I do like a bit of classic 80s metal but this evening I needed something modern and hard hitting.

Who else likes metal?
 
I used to listen to Minnesota's 93x KXXR in Saint Paul. They used to be really good and always played a decent selection of hard rock and metal depending on what time of day you listen to them. There is something up with there live stream at the moment so the next best one is 96x Alternative and I listened to them for a bit but they were playing some really cheesy rubbish stuff song after song was awful so I put youtube on and I was really struggling to find stuff that wasn't stale and worn out from the last decade.
