I'm looking into getting a cheap and cheerful webcam and I have seen a Mikomi one for £13 that seems to do a lot and a Creative Live one for £15 that seems to do less

Anyway, I know at those prices you get what you pay for but I've never heard of Mikomi before and I wondered if their products tend to break after 10 minutes of use ??
:)

Cheers

Never heard of them either. That said, my sister had a Creative NX Pro webcam which the stand broke off pretty quickly. All webcams around that price tend to be similar quality, you may have better luck with the drivers though for the creative, especially if you move to vista.

I use the Sony EyeToy as my webcam, a lot better quality than most cheap webcams. Was only £15 with a free PS2 game too.

Hmmmmmm......... I think I might just bottle it and go for the Creative Labs one.
At least that has a lapel mic where the Mikomi's mic is built in and will probably be a bit nobbins :)

Cheers

Ebay can sometimes result in blindingly cheap stuff. I got a Logitech branded webcam for £20 where it usually sells for about £40+. Though sometimes it has let me down *stares at usb hub in bin*

Look at people name dropping stores.
Aren't we supposed to say "the high street catalogue shop" and "the bay" :)

Anyway, I went for the Creative Live one.
It seems to have excellent low light capabilities.
Not bad for £15 :D
