Looking for comments on whether or not to move from LLU with Sky onto onto 21CN at this exchange http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/EADIS

My understanding is that 21CN is ADSL2+ generally speaking in terms of speed?
Why is 21CN often tied with the term wholesale?
Since 21CN is on BT, would it simply be a case of migrating back to my old ADSL provider?

I'm about 1.5-2km from the exchange and best connection stats to date are 10 down 1 up with around 45 attenuation.

I am hoping to that a migration would result in at least 15 down and a little bit more up.

Migration to a new service won't do anything to your ADSL sync rate. What will happen is you'll be on a provider that buys bandwidth off BT and to save money either throttles it heavily or doesn't buy enough capacity.

Migrating from LLU to 21CN could affect sync rate if the brand of DSLAM changes. Different brands of modems and DSLAMs don't always place nice.

Fair point, but it's not likely to yield a 50% improvement. Anything gained in sync will probably be lost to network congestion.

Ok thank you both.
You make useful points.

If it was an easy job -and we know it won't be- to migrate over and test, and then return to LLU if need be, then I'd try it.
