The WIC benchmark is notorious for bringing a system to it's knees. Download the UT3 demo for proof your card is certainly not 'past it' in a well optimised game.

If you are looking to max everything out at a high res then your card is pretty much at end of its lifespan.

its all down to what you expect from your card and in what games.
even my 8800gts has a hard time in world of conflict bench
yet the game runs smooth as anything with everything on max at full res for my 19" monitor and with a lot of action on screen

Aye the benchmark is a weird one. It makes you think the games going to run badly but you get a nice shock when you play it. Seattle is quite demanding but after that (up to 9th mission) they all run great on the X1900's.

Check out COD4 and UT3, both yet to be released games, yet your card will play them fine, even at high resolutions.

I've got a 1950Pro, which is slower than yours and it plays UT3 and COD4 @ 1650 x 1050 with full details :)

Just tried out COD4 on my x1900xt and it runs the game fine at 1680x1050/max detail/4xaa. Everything looks like it's packed with detail and animations yet it still runs beautifully. Obviously not all games will be as well coded, but I still reckon you card will run games fine for another year or so.

What frame rates are you getting as with my system all stock and 1900xtx i get really low fps when running at 4x aa 1600 x 1200 with full detail on cod 4. When the action really cranks up i run bellow 30. Full system is e6600, 2gig corsair xms 6400, HIS 1900xtx, hiper type r 580.

Well I'm not running 4 x AA on mine, which is a X1950Pro & C2d @3.0GHz. In the action scenes it hovers around the 30fps mark, yet still lookssiolky smoth.

Your not the 'realdeal' I know from CS from years and years ago are you?

The friend to whom I have loaned my 6800LE, downloaded the CoD4 demo last night and I was very surprised how well it ran. He even had the dynamic light setting turned on, which 'should' have brought the card to it's knees, but it didn't all at 1280*1024. I didn't have shadows on however and AA was off. OK the demo doesn't have any 'high' textures, but it shows what can be done :)

Your x1900xt is fine for gaming still. Benchmarks often try to be a tech demo, and try to be known as 'tough' so that magazines use them. It's a form of marketting in some twisted way.

It's only the recent tech's that have really pushed cards, such as high dynamic lighting and decent soft shadows. If you don't use the very top settings then just bout any game will be playable for some time to come. I was stunned how good CoD4 actually looked at 640*480 res on the LOWEST settings (but with 2x or 4x AA on *crazy* lol)

My x1900xt can run crysis fine @ medium settings (water on high - love! :p) - gets around mid twenties on my q6600 @ 3ghz

Got a 2900 pro this morning though so will see if I can't get that fps to stable 30 odd :)

My X1950GT is running UT3 fine at around 30-50fps AA etc dependant, i was all up for having to fork out for a new card until my machine happily plugged away with both Sega Rally and UT3

I'm surprised how everyone is saying x1900 will run games high settings/maxed out

I've used a x1950pro and it was no where near good enough to run games at 1280 res.

Its a relative.
