Is my 2080ti going wrong?

Hi

I purchased a Palit 2080ti, its been fine for a week or two, but suddenly its started booting me out of BFV. Originally I was getting artefacts then a system hang No error message or blue screen., I updated Nvidia drivers and it worked fine again (5 hour BF session). Today I jumped on and after 40 mins BFV started stuttering then simply hung and it booted me to windows. Windows was operating but very slowly, mouse hanging etc.

Oddly enough, its fine on Kingdom Come deliverance, no issues at all.

Ive got an RMA agreed from Overclockers, but does this sound like a hardware issue??

Thanks for the replies guys.

Yes really dissapointed to be honest. I’m due to upgrade the rest of my rig in the NY when sales are on, but its current state should still be more than enough to run a 2080ti.

i5 6600k
16GB DDR 4
Corsair 850w PSU

I’m sending back to OC tomorrow, I’m just hoping that they review and replace quickly.

I thought when you spend this kind of money yes the testing is a pain in the but . They have to see it for them shelves I guess but if I it wasn’t faulty I wouldn’t have sent it back . Was really happy with the performance I was gettin .

Same mate, Kingdom Come and BFV looked absolutely stunning on 4K ultra. Seriously amazing card, just a real shame the boards are naff. Must be frustrating for OC and other retailers who have to deal with the high return rates.

It just works ! I love that saying now lol.:D:eek::eek:

Sadly Nvidia aren’t Apple . Nvidia have 0 competition. If AMD had any sort of competitor product, the 2080ti would be 200 - 400 cheaper and would probably have been better made.

If only Apple offered a reasonably priced and easily upgradable gaming computer is buy that. MacOS is vastly superior to Windows 10 (IMO)

Did it get the space invaders artifacts? If it got those then the card is definitely on the way out. If not then, the card might be ok. You got an RMA with OCUK, so lets see what they say. Any word on when the replacement is coming?

Yes Ive had space invaders twice. Once half way through BFV, then on restart on the Windows login screen. I took pictures but not sure how to upload onto forums. After that, I was just getting crashes, with a drilling sound through my head phones.

I’ve tried reinstalling drivers (clean), and swapping over cables on my PSU (i heard that running 2 8pins off a same cable can cause voltage issues). My PSU is fine, only a few years old and its a decent Corsair 850W.

is that one of those that allow you to choose single rail or multi rail? i am almost certain i raid that the 2080ti is more stable if you run the psu in single rail mode.

That my friend is a good question, its a Corsair TX850 which is single rail i believe.

To be honest, I’m looking to upgrade by PC in the new year when the sales are on, new PSU, i5 > i7, 16GB Ram - 32GB ram, and depending on how well overclockers handle my return, will be the deciding factor on if they get my business or not.

Hey guys just an update.

OCuk recieved my faulty card back today at 11am. By 11:35am they had accepted the return, and by 13:20pm they have shipped me a brand new one next day delivery.

This is brilliant service by OCuk, particularly to send back next day delivery.

I can’t help but wonder if they didn’t even need to test to card as maybe the SN relates to a batch they know are dodgy?
