On my second 360 now. First one(a launch one was flawless strangely enough) but sold it a while back coz there was no decent games.
Anyways this recent one I have purchased at xmas, manuf date oct 06. Has been causing me grief. Basically every game I have played through so far has had the odd "please clean disc with a soft cloth method". I've had this with COD3, GOW, Lost planet and Double agent. Whereas on saintsrow it would just freeze as if the disc couldn't be read.
Now this is just intermittant ie each of the games mentioned it has happened 2 or 3 times (I typically play a game through and then don't return to it).
Lost planet has been a pain though as it has no save points ie if you turn machine off you have to restart the whole level which is a real pain.
I also seem to hear a kind of fluttering clicking from the drive which I don't think sounds healthy and on one occasion I got the "Please play disc on a 360 message".
Should I exchange it before it gets worse? I got it from an online retailer so the MS route is probably easiest but as it's only just over a month old i'm loathe to do that in case I end up with an older refurbed and potentially noisier one
Anybody had similar? Not getting the ring of lights or anything.
