im pretty sure it is :( its clocked @ Extreme Edition - 490Mhz core and 1.32Ghz memory effective. i set everything to performance in nVIDIA control panel and ran 3DMark05 and scored 7800

i got told i should be scoring 8300.. as you can see i have a 3500Venice @ stock and 1GB OCZ PC3200 @ 400Mhz. if this is normal then i supose its ok.. but i think its a bit low and would just like to know why..

can anyone help me?

3500 venice is your problem here I would guess. People with 2.8ghz SD's or opterons would be getting about 8k+ with a stock GTX extreme.

3500 + GTX EE = 7800+-
FX 57 + GTX EE = 8500+-
FX 57 + 512mb GTX EE = 9,600+-
FX 60 + 512mb GTX EE = 10,000+-

Thats how the trend seems to go.

I'm running a 3800+ @2.75Ghz and my GTX is clocked just under the EE levels and score 7750 roughly. So I don't think its that low your score, perhaps by 50 or so marks imo. Nothing to worry about, is it playing games ok? :D

I think yours seems a bit low though, considering my 7800GT with a 3200+ @ 2.5ghz gets 8200.

Naffa try overclocking the cpu just to 2.4ghz and see if the score increases by any noticeable amount.

:( uh-oh. Lol.

That is indeed a little low. My 7800 GT gets between 7800 upto about 8200 with it at 490/1200 and my A64 3200+ @ 2.5ghz.

I agree that 7800 is a bit low. My set up in the sig will do better than that, and if i make the pips squeak i can get 8300. Are you running anything in the background that might slightly hamper performance?

I'd imagine you can probably get 8800 at least if you push it.

What Speed is your 7800GT running @ to get that score ... I get 8300 with 3200+ @2.8ghz and 7800GT @ 510/1200....

Does setting the options to performance make much difference to the score? I've always just run it with things set at quality.

Overclocking would certainly help, i've overclocked my system, and with a 7800GTX got 9125 in 3DMark05, and 4425 in 3DMark06... Overclock it, you know you want too... ;)

Sorry, just to say as my score was low as well. Re-installed the drivers again and just got 8,469 on my GTX. :D

Much better. Ok, sorry naffa, good luck with the overclock!
