Hey

I acquired an android phone off the bay and was installing my apps,

when i installed the Skygo app and tried to run it, it says "Media Streaming is not supported on Rooted devices"

Now i have never rooted/jailbroken any devices, so my question is how do i check if this phone is rooted? and if it is how do i unroot it?

if it helps the phone is a HTC One X

There are a number of things Sky Go looks for to determine whether a phone is rooted, it may be that it has been rooted at some point and something has been left behind. Does it have a custom recovery like Clockwordmod or something?

I'd download an RUU from htcruu.com and flash that so you know everything is completely stock including recovery.

had a look at htcruu, so many not sure what to download and where to start,

may have to learn to live with it

Do you have superuser or supersu installed even though you arent rooted? If so uninstall

Sky Go checks for lots of things, its a right pain

If it's a One X (not One X+ ) then the RUUs are in the 'Endeavor' directory:

You need to download the latest version for your phone which depends on if it is a branded model or not - you can work out from the filenames the versions for the different operators. Once you download it it's just an exe file which updates the firmware on your phone via a very self explanatory process.

You need to make sure 'USB debugging' is turned on in your settings under 'Developer options'.
