Gigabyte P35 DS4 rev 1.0
2 gig BALLISTIX 5300
E2160

Ive had the above setup for a few months and its been working fine.

The memory was a bit fidly at the start but once got the setting right its worked fine ever since

CPU core speed 3150mhz
Bus speed 350
memory 525 @ 4-4-4

I decided to get a new psu as they old one was little low on the 12v line so got a corsair 620HX.

I think its been ever since but i cant get and the board to boot with a memory in slot 3 or 4

ive tried the following

each stick in every slot, 1 + 2 works

and both sticks in 1+2 works

tried every BIOS too no luck

tried different bios setting no luck

im guessing the 3+4 slots are faulty?? is this common, never had to return hardware is this an easy proccess??

Im just waiting for a new memory stick to turn up just to confirm the problem,,

Does anyone know what the turn around time is with gigabyte and a RMA??

Where do i start?

They have a British returns center in Milton Keynes that's meant to be pretty damn good, tho the link from the OcUK site no longer goes to the support page.

You could try ringing them on 01908 362700 to see if they still deal with returns direct from the end-user.

I have a DS3R Rev 1.0 and could only seem to use slots 1 and 4 together, but every slot worked fine individually. I think it's down to one of the sticks being slightly faulty.

Does the computer power up when you try to boot? Mine did so, but just reset itself continually.

Have you made sure to set the RAM voltage correctly? The default is 1.8V, but I think your RAM needs 2.2V. In the BIOS you would need to set the voltage to +0.4V.

DO NOT USE STOCK MEMORY VOLTAGE! Make sure you got at least 2 volts through the ram.. trust me I had this and that fixed it.

Edit: Damn other dude beat me to it.

yes ive tried lots of bios settings, from all at stock to my usualy overclock(that used to work)

ive tried mem voltages from 2---2.5v

not even a single stick will boot in slot 3+4 ( just cycles, doesnt boot)

at the mo ive got both sticks in 1+2 (2gig) single channel. Not even noticing any speed loss but its the point really.

ive got a stick of corsair value ram coming today hopefully so i will try that
