Hey, i have been running on my ati 5830 for around a month now at a fairly high overclock, but tempritures have never hit above 60oC, but today i cant run ugine bench or any games and just get very bad graphics corruption, at the moment i am running memtest to check ram and will prime 95 just incase... But is it rma time? :(

Boring comment I know. But the best way to eliminate (or otherwise) the graphics card, is to try it in another PC. If you don't have a "spare" yourself, then another family member or a friend (even I have a couple of those :) ). Easiest way and can save an awful lot of messing about.

Good luck :)

meh, it was as a thought, not the gpu, the auto over clock on my motherboard was playing up and it wasn't overclocked, until i opened the afterburner

If you overclocked and fried it how can you expect a refund/exchange? Unless the card came pre overclocked.

That's not true actually, AMD allows users to overclock their cards within the limits imposed within CCC howover if you hack the drivers and go above the limits it only then when you invalidate the warranty.

Hi

Ah I see, thanks for explaining it. Also my comment was not a fact, was more of a question really :)

So in CCC you can whack it to the max and if the card breaks you can get it changed then. In that case does everyone with amd cards use CCC overclock all the time?

I think most people use MSI Afterburner if I'm being honest. Personally I can't be doing with this video card overclocking lark as its always a stab in the dark as to what sort of increase in clock speeds your going to get and not all games will benefit from overclocking either.
