Is my chip cooler than most?

Somewhere in the middle.
I have a c2d e4300 cpu.

The voltage is above stock, and its clocked to 3.0ghz,

however the temps , considering its on the stock cooler seem very low compared to some!.

Do people only class load as Orthos?, or is heavy gaming classed the same.

Ive just played Oblivion for a bit, then Half Life 2 Episode 1 for about 3 hours and according to Coretemp my temps never went above 28c

Im thinking ive wasted money on a Noctua due this week!
 
With Coretemp program, and with Asusprobe.

All i need to do is run them yeah? or is there some hardware thing i should do for temp checks, im not very knowledgable about PCs these days :D
 
how are you recording temps ? because when you exit programmes and games the temps drop rapidly to idle again.

Core temp program keeps a text log of temps over time, so once you exit game you can check your temp records anyway

But they give out different temps

core temp = 29c/29c ::TAT = 32c/31c

TAT and Coretemp both read from the die. Temps maybe out due to useing Vista - im not sure, but both read drom the die.

Run orther and coretemp at the same time @ priority 9.

Am using XP and coretemp temps are way different to TAT...

I belive the TAT temps over the coretemp temps...
