I was searching for some parking sensor thing in google with all results from austrlia. (i typed in Meta SR2 Targa Parking Sensors) AND it came up with 1 result so i clicked on it and it came up with just about every website and every server this computer and my previous one that was hooked up to the same modem as this computer is using
Is my internet conection being traced???

I reliezed that it was what has been looked up through this conection because i saw a whole heap of websites that i viset or have viseted such as this one on the list.
The page is 3763k big and its all web adresses in text

I also noticed somebody had been looking up porn with the conection, its hunting time

Heres the google link. It should be the only link on the page. http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&q=Meta+SR2+Targa+Parking+Sensors&btnG=Google+Search&meta=cr%3DcountryAU

Click on it and see if it tells u what your internet has been conected to.

The people who created the Website is Latrobe University. Does anyone know whats going on?

Maybe it's a list of all the sites requested by the DNS server that your currently using, infact I think it is that.

This server seems to have requested every dynamic name listed on the DNS server that you use and is displaying it back to you.

It says proxy, so this is all that's gone through the proxy, which shouldn't really be avalibale like that.

It damm scared me what ever it is :(
I havnt even been on some of the sites that were on the list since before my old computer died about 9 months ago.

How can they get all that info when my old computer is in hundreds of peices and hasnt been coinected to the internet for so long?
Today was the first time ive ever even come across that site

EDIT: Just realised I am completely wrong I don't think it is anything to do with the proxy as afaik external servers can't request this information.

Could be your proxy's cache, depending on how often your proxy server cleans out it's cache it will display all the sites you have visited for a given period.
I'm guessing your proxy isn't set to clean it's cache very often or at all.

How do u set that?
I have all my tempoary files cleared every 1 or 2 days, I use crap cleaner a lot :)
What do i have to do to clean the proxy?

I don't think it is your proxy server anymore. I think it's a list of dynamic names requested and stored in a public DNS server. I changed the proxy server I use and it had the same list which verifies this.

Infact I am not even sure if it is possible for outside servers to obtain your cache, although they must know if you have the cache to determine whether they need to upload the website data when you access it.

Did it read all your websites to?
Whats a DNS server exactly? And how can it be stopped from being traced?

That's odd. That website says I've visited (forums.overclockers.com.au) 4,417 times, and yet only visited (forums.overclockers.co.uk) 27 times!! LOL

Or is the DNS for the Aussie one included in the UK one?

And yet it says I've only parsed my hosting 150 times.... NOT!!

I know that's a pretty small basis to judge on, but using those three statistics I am dutifully putting that site in the BS pile....

[edit] Looked up a few more. Don't know where that site is getting its info from, but it's FUBARED on its site visits and volume of traffic.

My wife has a member account for (www.pogo.com) and has for several years. Now, with the way the computers are hooked up to the internet, nd how I am hooked into my ISP, there is absolutely no way for that site to know the difference between my computer, my wife's computer, and my son's laptop. And yet it says that combined we've only visited pogo 254 times for a total of about 6MB of data. HAHA!! My wife could do that amount of visits in a week and do that amount of data transfer in a DAY!!!

So there's definately something wrong with thier collection software.....

Well your DNS server is public by it's innate function, that is it must communicate with other DNS servers and hosts to gain URL information for a given IP.

AFAIK the only way to stop it gaining the information from your DNS server will be to set a maximum number of requests allowed from other DNS servers/hosts.

I've never managed my own DNS server but it is possible in theory that there is software which does this. Although your most likely using your ISP's DNS server unless you decided to use your own instead.

Its not how many times it says ive viseted them that worrys me, its the fact it knows ive viseted them

Well it's the number of times the hostname has been requested by all the clients that have used the DNS server/servers cache being listed.

The list could have been generated from multiple DNS server logs as more than one DNS server is likely accessed for locations so far away like Australia.

The DNS server most likely stores the information for how many times a URL is requested.

/me waits for some networking bod to reply and point out any wrong things i've said :p

But I've NEVER been to the .au one. So why is it saying I've been there over 4,000 times, and yet I've only parsed the .uk one a little over a hundred?!?! I've parsed the .uk one over a hundred today ALONE!!! LOL

A DNS server will communicate with other DNS servers until it finds the IP for the hostname it is looking for.

Think it goes something like this. Your DNS server A and B, C for others.

A requested from B and if B finds IP for host then sends IP back to A. If B does not find the IP then requests information from C. And so on till the IP belonging to the hostname is found.

I'm far from an expert though if you want a proper answer best asking in the networking forum.

Maybe your DNS server cleaned it's cache recently

So mine and Mickey Ds DNS servers might be sharing info with each other?

I know ive been to overclockers.com.au a few times before but not 4000

The DNS server local to the website you connected to has most probably had 4000 requests for that website.

Yes your DNS servers could be sharing information if they are both very big, although if your using your own home one then it is very unlikely.

Im not sure if im using my own home one or not. I dont think i am. I dont have a network set up or anythiong because i dont really know much about networking

Your definitely using your ISP's DNS server then or a public one they told you to use :)

So if my ISP really wanted to they could look at every thing ive ever looked up? google searched? Can they also get passwords?
