Hi
Today i recieved my new system from overclockers everything looks fine so far but i'm a bit concerned about the processor the pc is called Titan Goliath" Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz @ 3.40GHz Quad Core DDR3 System but when i look in system and device manager it dont say it is overclocked to 3.40GHz it just says Intel(R) core (TM)CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz 2.66 GHz
I'm a bit of a noob with pcs so when a system is overclocked should it state it anywhere or should i download a program to see if its overclocked ?
Thanks in advance
Dean

Windows Vista only picks up the default clock speed of the CPU, not the actual speed. To check everything's running smoothly, download and run CPU-Z.

http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

You may find that this also reports a clock speed lower than what you expect. If this speed increases to 3.4ghz when your machine is under load, that's fine, it's just SpeedStep.

Thanks for link i downloaded the cpu z software but my core speed is starting from 2039 then going up to 3.40 but mainly staying on 2040 is this normal ?
