is my DDR3 Ram breaking???

Hi there,

I have 12GB XMS (6 X 2BG STICK) of ram in my machine and every now and then the machine thinks I have 8GB.

On top of that I have very little installed on my machine and my windows vista states the ram mostly runs at 14 - 16% usually but since installing the ram about 6 months ago this has risen to running at 21%

Is this normal or should I be concerned???

Will more coolant fans reduce the stain on the RAM running and reduce the usage??? If so can anyone recommend any ideas??

in my gf's pc bios reckons there is 3073mb installed, infact there is 6gb, which windows sees. also, there's a quad core cpu in there, it sees it as 2 cores...

wouldn't worry about that too much (unless it's windows seeing it wrong?)

as for memory usage, that'll most likely be down to programs bloating out over time, such as pre fetch and super fetch. again, i'd say nothing to worry about too much
