Is my Draytek 2920n hosed?

We had a power outage last night, which led to a leak, which led to some water getting onto my Draytek 2920n. It seemed to reboot OK but I can't get access to it from a Windows 7 laptop connected directly to a LAN port. When I plug the cable in the network adapter on the laptop shows "Identifying..." for a while (presumably trying to get an IP address) but then this stops and shows a status of "Unidentified Network".
Pinging 192.168.1.1 returns: "transmit failed. General failure"

The laptop is configured to to pick up a dynamic IP address.

I've tried a factory reset of the Draytek but no luck. The LEDs on the front look OK - the ACT light is flashing slowly and the WLAN light is lit. The LAN port on the router that the laptop is connected to is lit green (and occasionally flashes).

Is there anything else that I can try, or is it hosed??

hmm, given the circumstances, it seems like the router chip itself is good as ACT blinking means normal operation and WLAN is working but the router's switch hardware may be damaged.
Check whether WAN1 or WAN2 behave differently, if it's busted, WAN2 should also be dead.
It's worth opening them up and cleaning off any debris on chips with a toothbrush and dry them out thoroughly

OK I want to give this one last chance before it goes on eBay for parts...
When I turn on the router the ACT, USB, CSM and WAN1 LEDs light up temporarily during bootup. When boot is complete the green ACT continues blinking, the WLAN LED stays lit continuously, and the other lights go out.

When I connect a PC to a LAN port the green LED on the LEFT of the LAN port starts blinking (but not the LED on the right of the port). The same is true when I try all of the LAN ports.

When I connect my ASDL modem/router to the WAN1 port BOTH of the port LEDs light up - the left one blinks but the right one stays solid.

When I connect my ASDL modem/router to the WAN2 port the LEFT LED on the WAN port starts blinking but the one on the right doesn't.

Does anyone know how to open these up? There are no screws and I'm not sure which piece to start pulling!

With the LAN ports the right-hand LEDs will stay off unless you've got a Gigabit connection. The left-hand LED blinking should mean that traffic is flowing.

Retry the factory reset - with the router on press and hold the reset button until the ACT LED starts to blink rapidly. Release the button, the router will reboot.

Assign the machine you're try to connect from a static IP rather than relying on the router's DHCP server.

Try to connect using telnet.

The screws are probably hidden under the rubber feet.

Thanks. I retried the factory reset but still no dice - it still doesn't respond to either a ping or a telnet connection. Also tried a static IP address (set PC address to 192.168.1.10 and tried pinging the router on 192.168.1.1). No luck. Telnet connection also failed.

I've managed to open up the router (thanks for the pointer!), and it all looks spotless - you wouldn't know that any water had got in.

Anything else I can try before giving up???

Still under warrenty, it has a 2 year warreny, no need to mention water issue?

Draytek customer service is brilliant, had a slight problem with a 2750n, posted it on Monday morning, had it back Thursday morning same week fully sorted, & with latest firmware as well.

Didn't realise it had 2 yr warranty - thanks!
